About Us

Welcome to NPS Calculators. We are an independent financial tools platform built around one clear goal: making India’s National Pension System easier for ordinary people to understand and plan for. If you have ever stared at a pension brochure wondering how much your monthly contribution actually adds up to by the time you retire, you already know the problem we set out to solve.

The NPS is one of the most powerful long-term savings instruments available to Indian citizens and government employees, yet the math behind it is genuinely confusing. Tier I and Tier II accounts, equity and debt allocation ratios, annuity percentages, tax-deductible limits under sections 80CCD(1), 80CCD(1B), and 80CCD(2), there is a lot to keep track of. Most people end up either guessing their retirement corpus or relying on a financial advisor for something they could easily calculate themselves with the right tool. That gap is why NPS Calculators exists.

How We Started

The idea came from a straightforward frustration. A member of our small founding team — someone who had spent years in personal finance content, was helping a family member open an NPS account and realised there was no single, clean, trustworthy place to run different contribution scenarios side by side. There were scattered calculators on banking portals, most of them rigid and poorly explained. There were government PDFs full of tables. There were YouTube videos that were helpful but could not run live numbers. We built the version of the tool we wished we had found.

NPS Calculators launched as a focused, single-purpose platform. We did not try to become a general finance portal overnight. We spent the first several months making sure the core NPS projection calculator was genuinely accurate, easy to understand, and worked well on both desktop and mobile. From there, we expanded to include supplementary tools for APY (Atal Pension Yojana), SIP projections that help users compare NPS against market-linked investments, and detailed guides that explain how the scheme works in plain language rather than regulatory text.

What We Offer

Our main NPS Calculator lets you input your age, current monthly contribution, expected return rate, and intended retirement age, then instantly shows you an estimated retirement corpus and monthly pension. You can adjust the annuity percentage and the expected annuity rate to see how those choices affect your monthly income after retirement. Everything updates in real time so you can run as many scenarios as you like without reloading the page.

Beyond the primary tool, we publish informative articles and guides on topics like the difference between Tier I and Tier II NPS accounts, how to maximise NPS-related tax deductions, the rules around partial withdrawal, and what happens to your corpus if you exit before retirement. We write these guides because good calculators and accurate supporting information belong together, a number without context is not very useful.

Who Runs NPS Calculators

NPS Calculators is maintained by a small team of people with backgrounds in personal finance writing, web development, and financial data. We are not a bank, a registered investment adviser, or an SEBI-registered entity. We are independent creators who take accuracy seriously. Every calculator formula is reviewed against the official NPS rules published by PFRDA (the Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority), and we update our tools promptly whenever regulatory changes are announced.

We believe transparency is part of doing this right. That is why we are clear about what we are, an informational and educational tool, and equally clear about what we are not. We do not manage money, we do not take commissions, and we do not sell financial products. Our only motivation for maintaining this website is to make a genuinely useful resource available for free.

Our Mission

Our mission is to make NPS planning accessible to every Indian contributor, salaried professionals, self-employed individuals, and government employees alike, by providing clear, accurate, and free calculation tools alongside trustworthy educational content. We want someone who has never heard of PFRDA to come to our website, run a few numbers, and leave with a real understanding of how their contributions will grow over time.

Our Vision

We envision NPS Calculators as the most trusted independent reference point for NPS-related financial planning in India. Not the biggest website, not the flashiest app, but the one people recommend to friends and family when they want to understand their pension without sitting through a sales pitch. As the NPS scheme itself evolves, and it has changed several times since its expansion to the private sector, we intend to keep our tools and content current so users always have reliable information at their fingertips.

A Note on Trust

We take our responsibility seriously. Retirement planning decisions have real, long-term consequences for people and their families. That is exactly why we are careful to present our calculators as estimation tools, not guarantees, and why every page that mentions specific figures links back to the logic behind those figures. If something on our website is wrong or outdated, we want to know about it. You can reach us anytime through our contact page, and we treat every correction request with the same priority we give to building new features.
